October 23, 2021 – Outdoor Quilt Exhibit, Mineola Middle School

This “Plenty of 20s” fundraiser to highlight the guild’s 20 years since inception included a silent auction, children’s scavenger hunt, gently used book sale and fabric sale.  20″ x 20″ quilts were displayed along the school fence and there were tables for book and fabric sales.  In addition to the quilts in the auction, there were also some quilts on loan (display only) and several charming larger quilts also on display to highlight the guild’s charitable donations.   A quilt featuring mustangs was donated to Mineola Middle School in honor of the school mascot,  Mineola Mustangs.

RaNae Merrill was our guest speaker for our Thursday, November 5th general meeting. Her lecture, via ZOOM, covered her 4th book, Free-Motion Mastery in a Month.
RaNae also did a 6-hour workshop via ZOOM on November 7 & 8. Members learned how to set-up their machines, find their perfect quilting speed and get even, flowing stitches. Basic shapes, lines, curves, circles, teardrops, s-curves and spirals will be taught.
